Product Development Group Manager for Spyder, a premium brand with sales over 120m. Spyder is one of the most recognized and respected brands of high-performance, technically-oriented skiwear and outerwear in the world. Spyder was an official supplier to the U.S. alpine, Austrian and Canadian alpine national ski teams.

At Spyder I oversaw a Product development group creating a technical product line, including outerwear, race, knits and accessories.

Apocalypse & Now

Director of Sales and Marketing for the pioneering French winter sport manufacturing company Apocalypse and Now snowboards prior to their move to Taiwan/China. Apocalypse was founded in France by snowboard pioneer Regis Rolland, often considered the “Jake Burton of Europe” and star of the classic Apocalypse Snow film series.

Oversaw all global marketing and sales efforts for the 4th largest snowboard/binding manufacturer worldwide.

My company Euromode helped develop the global marketing plan for Torstai's Club A. Club A become perhaps the most visible brand in the ski media during the 1980’s and was sold at hundreds of the most prestigious ski and specialty shops in the world. Club A also sponsored the legendary films, Blizzard of Aahhh's and License to Thrill as well as the USA,Norwegian and finnish freestyle ski teams.

Responsible for all phases of a multi-national operations and sports marketing. Torstai achieved sales world-wide in excess of $40 million during my tenure.

Barry Levinson is an entrepreneurial professional with strong marketing, sales, design and operational skills with more than three decades of experience in the sport apparel and equipment industry. Working from both the wholesale and retail perspective, Barry has a record of successfully developing, managing and launching brands domestically and globally to deliver profit and revenue growth.

Mr. Levinson was most recently Founder and President of SYNC Performance Apparel, where he was responsible for launching its highly acclaimed technical outerwear brand. Prior to his time at SYNC, Barry was Founder and President of Racing Development Inc./SRD, a leading supplier of technical ski racing apparel and equipment. Prior to that, he served as Product Development Manager of Spyder Active Sports. Before that, Barry was Director of Sales and Marketing of Apocalypse Snowboards, where he launched the “Now” division, created brand extension categories and developed private OEM manufacturing for many major suppliers.

Perhaps Barry is most well known for his company Euromode Ltd. and its brands Torstai/Club A being one of the most popular, visible, influential and fastest growing skiwear companies of its time. Barry has also provided consulting services to leading brands including POC Sports where he introduced the brand to the USA market, Bogner, Swatch and many others.

Barry is an avid alpine and backcountry skier, road and mountain cyclist and is still a part-time private ski instructor at the Vail Ski School. He previously completed the legendary Haute Route and Ortler ski tours and has a long history of world travel. Barry is also the Co-Founder of the Berlack and Astle Memorial Fast Skier Award Scholarship now entering its 10th year.

Bio

Born and raised in a small village in upstate New York at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, I enjoyed sports such as basketball and tennis, but my passion was always in skiing. This pursuit started at the age of three at our small local hill. I then spent the next 15 years following skiing and all aspects of the sport and industry – from the annual consumer ski show in New York City to ski trips to larger ski areas in New York and Vermont -- but it was never enough.

When it became time to select a college, I took the opportunity to make the move to Colorado, where I attended the University of Denver, and graduated with a Marketing and International Business degree. When my hopes to race for the University of Denver were dashed due to the downsizing the alpine program in the 1980s, I took advantage of the opportunities to work in the industry, taking part-time positions at Denver ski shops, AlpenCourt and Hagan Sports, while also venturing out to other ski areas across the state, all in the name of “market research.”
