Colorado National Monument | Colorado

Ever since I first saw this amazing location in the Coors Classic and the film American Flyers I promised I would ride there one day. Little did I know it would take 35 years! The Colorado National Monument preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. But this is much more than a monument. Towering monoliths exist within a vast plateau and canyon panorama. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of Rim Rock Drive, where you may spy bighorn sheep and soaring eagles. One of the great bike rides anywhere.

It is a 45 mile loop from Grand Junction to Fruita and into the monument. 3,000’ of climbing. Worth every mile!
