Almuñécar Costa Tropical | Spain

My long anticipated trip to Almuñécar Spain finally happened this past May. I have been looking for a place that combines my passions for skiing, cycling, food, the sea and true culture and I have found it in this small unpretentious town on the Costa Tropical along the Mediterranean Sea in Andalucía between Málaga and Granada.

Over 3,000 years old, settled by the Phoenicians, it has beautiful beaches, an ancient Moorish Old Town, a Castle looming above and 2,000 year old Roman ruins. Avocados, mangos, bananas, oranges, lemons, limes and more grow alongside mountain vineyards, olive fincas and even Europe’s only coffee plantation.

Perhaps this may become my new home…
